Wiltshire finished their season in the Senior County Championship South West Division 2 finishing in 3rd place, winning 5 matches and losing 2. Their points total of 47 was sufficient to put them as the 2nd best 3rd placed team with the result that they should be playing in the new Division 1 South in the re-vamped competition next season.
On the Saturday the first match was against Avon 3 with Wilts winning 8-3. All 5 singles matches were won by Jon McDonald, Simon Woodhouse, Andy Ferris, Lisa Elliott and Ella Scott Humphris. Jon McDonald/Jason Plant and Stevie Boxall/ Ella Scott Humphris won their doubles and then Jon McDonald /Harriet Ferris won their mixed for a comprehensive win. The 2nd Saturday match was against Gloucestershire and resulted in a defeat by 6-5. Wilts started badly with only Andy Ferris winning a singles. They then fought back with Jon McDonald/Jason Plant and Andy Ferris/Andrew Jones winning both mens doubles which was followed by a win for Stevie Boxall/Ella Scott Humphris in the ladies doubles and by a win for Jason Plant/Lisa Elliott in the mixed doubles.
On the Sunday Wilts took on Avon II (who were the eventual winners of the Division). They started well winning 4 of the singles through Jon McDonald, Henry Prothero, Andrew Jones and Ella Scott Humphris. This was followed by a win in the mens doubles by Jon McDonald/ Jason Plant and in the mixed by Jason Plant/ Nicky Robertson to give Wilts a fine victory.
