On Wednesday 13th April Mid Wilts held their Senior Restricted singles tournament at the Sheldon School leisure centre in Chippenham.
2 groups of 5 each playing 2 sets to 21 took part in the competition with both first and second going through to the semi finals and eventually the final.
In group 1, this was won by Jack Agnew (Chippenham 23) with Dan Wilcox second (Phoenix/Frome) with Joe Stockwell third. The placing only decided on points after all three of them finished with 6 sets won and 2 lost. Jack 160 points, Dan 159 points and Joe 149 points.
Group 2 was won by Graham Hutchings (Frome) from Lewis Margetts (Corsham) again with them tied on 7 sets won and 1 lost, Graham winning on the result of points won when they played each other.
In the semi finals Jack beat Lewis 21-13, 21-17 whilst Graham beat Dan 19-21, 21-7, 21-16.
In the final Jack beat Graham 21-5 to retain the trophy he won 2 years ago. |
